Inside a Case File
- 01
Research question
Every file opens with the question, not a conclusion.
- 02
Evidence & findings
Primary documents, each finding labelled Confirmed, Assessed or Unresolved.
- 03
Timeline
Dated events with the source for each.
- 04
The map
Companies, people and transactions, every link backed by evidence.
- 05
Analysis & alternatives
What the evidence suggests, what it does not establish, and other explanations.
- 06
Source file
References so readers can examine the evidence themselves.
The first DSI Case Files are in research and review. This is the format, not a finished file.
Methodology
Evidence before narrative
Every investigation separates what is known from what is assessed and what is still open, and links each material claim to its source.
- 01
Collection
Company disclosures, regulatory filings, procurement portals, patents, court records and reputable reporting. Primary sources first.
- 02
Detection
Duplicate reports are grouped and original announcements separated from articles that repeat them.
- 03
Triage
Evidence quality 25%, business significance 20%, materiality 20%, originality 15%, audience relevance 10%, feasibility 10%. The score informs judgment, it doesn't replace it.
- 04
Investigation
The original claim, primary documents, entities, supporting and contradicting evidence, missing information and alternative explanations.
- 05
Analysis
Every finding is labelled Confirmed, Assessed or Unresolved.
- 06
Editorial approval
A human reviews claims, sources, fairness, context and legal risk. AI drafts are never published automatically.
Directly supported by reliable evidence.
An interpretation supported by evidence, not established as fact.
The available evidence is incomplete or contradictory.

The flagship publication
The DSI Briefing
The Signal. What happened. The connection. Why it matters. What to watch. The source file. Concise enough to read quickly, substantive enough to come back to.
